Review Game Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

UPDATE: The special editions of Black Ops 4 were just announced and we'll add them to this guide as they appear on retailer sites. So far there is a Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Digital Deluxe Edition, Digital Deluxe Enhanced Edition and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Pro Edition.

Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII comes out October 12, and we already know the long-rumored Battle Royale mode is real. Treyarch also gave some concrete details into the new zombie mode, including three brand-new alternate history scenarios. Here are the biggest retailers and their preorder pages for Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII as they currently stand. No special editions, collector's editions, or retailer-exclusive preorder bonuses have been revealed yet, but we'll update this page as soon as that changes.

Black Ops 4 Preorder Bonuses
If you preorder Black Ops IIII, you gain access to a private beta at some point in the future. Treyarch didn't give any further details after its reveal event other than the beta exists.

Some retailers list 1,100 Call of Duty points as a preorder bonus, but not all. The listings are still really young, but it's a good bet those points will be included in all the preorders.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 gameplay is, as the initial reports claimed, committed to being "more grounded" with toned down sci-fi elements. Specialist roles are making a return in multiplayer, but Black Ops 4 will not see the return of thrust jumping, wall running, or automatic health regen.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies Mode
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Zombies mode will have three maps at launch, as well as difficulty levels, tutorials, a custom mode with over 100 options, online challenges called Callings, and more. Black Ops 4's May 17 reveal event provided us with our first look of Black Ops 4 Zombies, including a colosseum-themed map featuring only melee weapons, a cruise ship-themed map called Voyage of Despair. Its third map, called Blood of the Dead, was only briefly teased.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Campaign and Single-Player
Initial claims that Black Ops 4 would not have a traditional single-player campaign at launch were true. Instead of a traditional campaign, Black Ops 4 will feature a series of solo missions set between Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 3. Featuring new and returning Specialist characters, these missions will give players glimpses into each Specialists' backstory and an opportunity to learn new tactics. Black Ops 4's zombie mode may also be played solo.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Battle Royale Mode Blackout
Black Ops 4's battle royale mode is called Blackout. It will be available at launch and feature a map 1,500 times the size of an average Call of Duty map, with weapons, tools, and even characters from Black Ops multiplayer and Zombies available.

Leading up to the official announcement of Black Ops 4 battle royale, Activision expressed its awareness of battle royale's success and a source even told Kotaku that Black Ops 4 would have a battle royale mode. Turns out they were right!
